Girl-led.
Trail-tested. Community-built.
Troop 1804 is an all-girls Scouts BSA troop chartered by Carolina Youth Initiative, a nonprofit organization serving youth in the Carolinas. Our scouts plan the trips, lead the meetings, and earn every rank on the trail to Eagle.
Our Mission
To prepare young women to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.
Troop 1804 delivers the Scouts BSA program to girls ages 11–17. Through youth-led leadership, outdoor adventure, community service, and rank advancement, our scouts develop character, citizenship, personal fitness, and lifelong leadership skills. As a unit of a nonprofit chartering organization, all of our activities are conducted on a charitable, non-commercial basis, and the troop is operated entirely by trained volunteer leaders.
What We Do
Outdoor Adventure
Monthly campouts, backpacking treks, canoeing, climbing, and summer camp. Scouts learn wilderness skills, Leave No Trace ethics, and self-reliance in the outdoors.
Leadership Development
Troop 1804 is youth-led. Scouts serve as Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leaders, and Quartermasters — planning meetings, budgets, and trips with adult mentorship.
Community Service
Our scouts complete service projects throughout the year — food drives, park cleanups, and conservation work — culminating in Eagle Scout service projects that benefit local communities.
Rank Advancement
From Scout to Eagle, girls advance through merit badges and rank requirements covering first aid, citizenship, personal management, and more than 130 skill areas.
Our Chartering Organization
Troop 1804 is chartered by Carolina Youth Initiative, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding leadership and character development opportunities for young people in the Carolinas. As our chartering organization, Carolina Youth Initiative sponsors the troop, approves our adult volunteer leaders, and provides oversight of the Scouting program we deliver.
The troop operates under the Scouts BSA program of the Boy Scouts of America and follows all BSA youth protection policies. All registered adult leaders complete BSA Youth Protection Training and background screening.
Donations and fundraising proceeds support scout programming, camping equipment, and financial assistance so that no girl is ever turned away for inability to pay.
